Näiteks poleeritud metallpinnad toimivad juhul kui need on üle lakitud või kergelt oksüdeerunud. Polarisatsioonifiltrit ei soovita keerata juba kaamera ees oleva UV filtri külge, vaid kasutage ühte filtrit korraga! Proovi polarisatsioonifiltrit ja Sa mõistad, et see soovitus muudab Su maastikufotod hoopis teistsuguseks.

UV filter näeb välja nagu õhukene toonita klaas, mis on paigutatud keermestatud filtriraami. Fotograafid teavad, et objektiivi esimese läätse puhtus mõjutab pildi tehnilist kvaliteeti ning seepärast kantakse hoolt, et objektiiv oleks puhas. Sagedase puhastamisega me võime lõpuks rikkuda objektiiv vääristuse. Piisab läätsele sattunud liivast pärineva imepisikesest kvartsi kristallist ning lapiga puhastades tõmbamegi objektiivile esimese kraapsu. UV filter on piisavalt odav vahend objektiivi kaitsmiseks. Tolmu, näpujälgede puhastamine filtriklaasilt on tunduvalt ohutum tegevus, pealegi kui ka peaks juhtuma mingi äpardus, siis filter maksab enamasti murdosa objektiivi väärtusest ning suurem kahju jääb tekkimata. Nikoni kõrge kvaliteediga filtrid ei muuda objektiivi valgusjõudu, ei põhjusta kromaatilist aberratsiooni ega hägusta pilti. Soovitame filtri soetada kohe koos objektiiviga.
